Hello Alisan. In an earlier message you mentioned that you are a descendant of Elizabeth Veness (born 1880 in Birmingham). My wife is a descendant of Elizabeth’s brother, William John, born in 1882. If this connection is correct then I may have some useful information for you about the 1880s Veness family in Birmingham. All the best. Jeff.

Hi Caroline,
A friend of mine’s wife’s surname is Veness who comes from Birmingham. I am a member of Genes reunited, is it possible to get in touch and I could show her your family tree.

Hello Jeff,
I have some Veness in my genealogy data. Your ancestor definately came from Brightling near Battle, your forebear Isaac Venice b 1706-66. One of his decendant Samuel Venice moved to Worcester & married Mary Spadling in 1814 and had 5 children, Elizabeth being the 4th childn (b1825), had an illegitimate son John Bacon Veness born 1848. From this point John married and eventually off spring which settled in Birmingham.
Absolutely – my ancestors are from Battle / Brightling but you are welcome to see if there is a connection. You should find me on there.
Regards, Caroline
Hi Jeff – Would your wife contact me if she has done a DNA test as I am coordinating DNA investigations for the Birmingham side. Thanks.
Hi Robin,
What information can you share that connects Isaac to Samuel? Samuel is my 4xGGF and the paper trail is not clear for him prior to his appearance in Worcester.
