I offer Silk painting sessions overone or two hours or two or three days at my studio and C17 home in Battle.
The shorter sessions are basic and will allow you to explore a little before cretaing a small slk scarf to take home.
No previous experience is required and we will work at a pace which suits you .
All materials, Organic Tea / Coffee and Biscuits along with a light organic lunch are provided each day during a weekend booking.
I will begin with a general introduction to silk painting, techniques, and the fabric itself. Together we will look at the various materials and tools understanding the ways in which they might be used.
Following this I will help you to move forward to a truly enjoyable creative experience which I am sure will stay with you as you explore further in the future. From pictures to clothing the possibilities are yours to discover.
In the studio you will start with a couple of small practice pieces of silk as you first apply dye to silk fabric. This will include using water and salt as you explore the movement of dye through silk .
Once ready you will create a medium sized picture and finally a hemmed scarf. Once completed I will three hour steam fix your work and post it on to your desired address.
