Hi, Thomas Blackman was my Great Grandfather, he had a son Henry T Blackman he was my Grandfather. I have traced most of the various family connections back to Anthony Blackman 1676, but as yet cannot go further as his father was Thomas and I have two possible leads.
Where does your line come into the Blackman line.
    Regards,
    Michael

    Hi Steven,
Have checked my records and the only Joseph that appears is in 1678 born in Battle and he died in 1690. His father was Thomas born 1628 or 1634 in Crowhurst. This is where I am stuck. after this there is two lines I could follow.
    Regards, Michael

Both James 1821 and his brother William 1828 are my husband’s gt gt grandfathers. James’s son Thomas Henry 1856 and William’s dau. Adelaide 1853 married : their son William James BLACKMAN 1881 was my husband’s grandfather. He married Rosina M. Hi Michael

Thomas (1856) & Adelaide were my husband’s gt grandparents. Thomas ( 1856) & Adelaide were cousins : Thomas’s father was James and Adelaide’s William both sons of Philip and Sarah (nee NOAKES) PRs handwritten at Lewes : the “N” is written in an old fashioned way and does resemble “R” .
Thomas Henry & Adelaide’s son William James bn.1881 Battle was my husband’s grandfather.
He marr. Rosina WALKER ( a widow, nee DEAN) they were landlords of “The Coach & Horses” Willow Place Victoria London.

Hope some of this helps. Liz

    Hi Liz,
Its great to hear from from you. I have traced most of the family lines and was aware of your family connection. However Philip’s wife was Sarah Roakes, I have all there birth records. The last four children have Birth certificates which state that Sarah Blackman was formerly Roakes. I also have info on her line, this to is confirmed.
If you would like to know info further back than Philip
    I can help you.

    Best Wishes,
    Michael
