I am looking for any info on my mother’s family.
My mother’s name was Nora Rose Penfold. She was born on the29th of May 1928 at Stone House(the old Battle Workhouse) North Trade Road, Battle, East Sussex. Her parents were Jesse and Agnes Ann Brooks (nee Western) Penfold.Jesse was born in Eastbourne in 1897. Agnes was born in Portsmouthin Hampshire in 1903. Jesse and Agnes were married at Eastbourne Registry Office on the 24th November 1923. Jesse was A News Vendor at thae time. My mother had siblings- Vera K Penfold born in Eastbourne in 1925.Possibly Nancy Lilian and Jean. At the time of my mother’s birth Jesse was a casual farm labourer at Udiam Farm, Bodiam, Hawkhurst in Kent. Agnes may have gone to live in another part of Kent after my mother’s birth. Trying ti find out if Agnes lived there without Jesse. If anyone has any info, please get in touch.
