Discovering “Blue Zones,” Dan Buettner found secrets to longevity. Dena Smith Ellis shares “Power 9” principles for longer, happier lives.
Research by National Geographic Fellow and New York Times Best Selling Author, Dan Buettner, led to the discovery of what he coined the “Blue Zones,” locations where there are 10 times more centenarians than Americans. Dan and his team were in search of the secrets of longevity and their research revealed nine common denominators in all five of these zones, now known as “The Power 9.”
Dena Smith Ellis, of Rye, is a former Organisation Lead with Blue Zones Project in Hawai’i, where she coached worksites, restaurants, grocery stores, faith-based organisations, schools, and individuals on how to incorporate these nine principles into their organisations and their own lives in order to live longer, happier, and healthier together.
Dena will be sharing the wisdom of these “Power 9” with us and guiding us on how we might increase the quantity and quality of “good years” in our lives.
