Battle in East Sussex Town Guide

Family History of Wade

I am trying to trace my family tree and my father James William Wade has just informed me that he recalls his grandparents James Edward and Rose Wade living in cottages at Burnt House Farm in Battle or Ninfield. This would have been around the 1930s. They had family connections to Eastbourne and the Wade’s had many shops in Eastbourne Wet Fish Shop, Diary, Grocery and a Tobacconists. Does anyone at all recall a Wade family? Is there a Burnt Barn Farm in Battle?

Even better does anyone have archives of shops in Eastbourne of the 1920s or 1930s?

Would love even the tiniest bit of information.
